“None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding
except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is.
In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness:
touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it
because in the last analysis all moments are key moments,
and life itself is grace.” ~ Frederick Buechner (Now and Then)

“[God] does not manage me, to-do list me, or bullet point me. He loves me. Is with me. And believing Him feels impossible, until I do, like a miracle, like luke-warm water turning merlot red right there in the cup. And then I sense the hope again. Because – oh yeah – God doesn’t tell me what to do, he invites me into what he has done.” ~ Emily Freeman at Chatting at the Sky

“How do you become the person you desire to be? You start now to adopt the thinking, learn the skills, and develop the habits of the person you wish to be.” ~ John Maxwell

“Sometimes…you have to dig a lot of ditches before the Lord sends an unexplainable rush of water to fill those blister worked places.
Please always remember that.
Please don’t ever diminish one thing you do in the name of our sweet Jesus.
Because one day the water will rush forth in one way or another. “This is what the Lord says, make this valley full of ditches. For this is what the Lord says: You will see neither wind nor rain, yet the valley will be filled with water…this is an easy thing in the eyes of the Lord,” (2 Kings 3: 16-17).
In other words, our job is obedience in the daily ways of life. God’s job is results. When the water comes, we won’t see it coming, we won’t be able to explain it, and it really doesn’t have anything to do with us at all.
Sweet sisters, I’ve never recognized that more clearly than now. Two days ago, my publisher called to tell me on January 23rd, “Made to Crave” will be listed on the New York Times Best Seller list.
And suddenly the words escaped me.” ~ Lysa TerKeurst

“None of this is a waste. I know right now you are wondering why you’re doing this, wondering if anything will ever come from it. It may turn out the way you hope or it may not, but the things you are learning now in the process will not be wasted. I can promise you that.” ~ Lysa TerKeurst via Emily Freeman at Chatting at the Sky
